Code Lumberjack was born from a simple observation: AI tools like ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, and v0 have democratized software development, enabling founders and non-technical teams to build working prototypes in hours, not months.
But we also noticed a dangerous gap. These AI-generated prototypes often lack the engineering rigor needed for production use—proper security, scalability, error handling, and maintainability. Teams would hit walls when trying to debug issues, scale their applications, or pass security audits.
As senior engineers who've built systems at scale for companies like Stripe, Airbnb, and GitHub, we saw an opportunity to bridge this gap. We don't believe AI tools are bad—quite the opposite. They're incredibly powerful for rapid prototyping and validation.
